  2. Hello.
With your new Shell i got an error:
“No IP addresses available on your Ubuntu !!”

What could i do? I am just running the old script.

    • Hi Olaf,

I guess this issue is related to the new Magento installer. In that case, I’ve just uploaded a new version that should work on both ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 (they seem to have different outputs when running the ifconfig command, which is used to detect the configured IP address).

This is fixed by replacing “grep ‘inet:'” with
      “egrep ‘inet |inet:'”

  3. How to uninstall?

    Comment by alec | January 31, 2010

    • Hi Alec,

Fist of all, this installation is achieved by compiling source code.. Never tried this out, but there could be one solution by typing this command:

      sudo python uninstall

under each bzr/branch directory (directories on /opt).

If possible my recommendation is to set up a new ubuntu system from scratch.

openerp binaries have some advantages… (ubuntu 9.10)

BTW, this installer is now obsolete (there’s a brandnew one available on this blog)

  5. Hi,

I’ve created a new non-root user on a fresh instalation of ubuntu 9.1 running in a cloud environment.

when I run the installer, i get asked
    [sudo] password for user:
user is not allowed to run sudo on edg1. This incident will be reported.

i’ve tied to add the user to sudo priveliges ALL
But the password doesn’t work and i’m stuck here…

    any help ???

    • Did you add the new user account to “admin” group? (file /etc/group)

BTW, you can gain direct root access by typing “sudo -s”
